The 5 Carter quartets at the Wigmore Hall in London last night were outstanding. You must have been exhausted not only physically from the hard work but mentally from so much wonderful music. Pacifica and Elliott Carter are America at its very BEST!! Thank you, thank you!!

I heard your superb performance at Longy in Cambridge (Beeth. Op.132, Carter #3, Crumb #3). I especially enjoyed the Carter, which sounded much more coherent than the last live performance I heard (Juilliard Quartet at Ravinia in 1976!). I thought your arrangement of the duos with Vc/Vlc on stage right facing the audience worked well (the Juilliard used the opposite arrangement and the duos faced each another), and made it visually (as well as audibly) obvious how those two parts fit together. Thank you for a wonderful evening of great music!

I'm impressed beyond words by the delightful, masterful, inspiring performances of this group! Both their playing and their commentary are absolutely superlative. Wonderful + Wonderful musical performance. Beethoven - more outstanding than we've ever heard. Our minds were focused on each phrase of the music, including the Hindemith. Such a monumental musical conversation. Your precision movements made the music dance. It was a thrill for us to be in the audience. We look forward to a future performance.

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your concert in St. Paul. All three works were played with such evident love and commitment. The great adagio of Beethoven's second Rasumovsky was so very beautiful and moving, although it seems unfair to pick out a particular movement from any of the works! It was a very memorable experience, and you are all wonderful artists. Thank you so much for coming to snowy Minnesota.
